The global asset and auto finance industry has been through some turbulent times since the Great Recession, and there have been moments when the foundations for its recovery seemed fragile, but 2015 looks like it is shaping up to be the year the industry cemented its recovery.
Over the last five or six years, asset based finance of all kinds has had the opportunity to demonstrate both its resilience and the role it can play when credit, generally, is in short supply. In response to the perceived excesses and loose underwriting that characterized the pre-recession era, the industry has done much to get itself ship shape, with leaner finance providers emerging who make greater use of technology to tighten underwriting approaches, introduce efficiencies across a range of back office processes and improve customer service.
