Case Study

Lombard - Point-of-Sale

The system was built using leading edge technology and received “Best use of Technology in Marketing” award.

Context

Lombard’s beginnings can be traced back to 1861 when, as the North Central Wagon Company, they hired out rolling stock to railway companies. Lombard has grown to be the UK’s leading asset finance provider.

The commercial reality is that dealers will use a variety of sources for their motor finance deals. However in recent years, dealers have been deluged with hardware and software from finance companies and banks which is often incompatible and require different information parameters and requirements.

Challenge

Key requirements for the project were:

  • Needed a software system to link all of their legacy systems together
  • The process required to deal with faxed and telephoned applications tends to be cumbersome, and follow up phone calls are often required to ensure that enough information is received in order to make a lending decision. Therefore the system needed to be able to capture all data required for an application in an orderly fashion.
  • Needed to be user friendly
  • Needed to speed up application processing
