Objectives:

The management of processes, systems and functions to package, build, test and deploy changes and updates into a live environment

Requirements of the role

Technical

  • Experienced knowledge of app server: WebSphere, Tomcat,  JBoss
  • Webserver: IHS, IIS, Apache
  • Database: Oracle, SQL server
  • Operating system: Linux, Windows
  • Knowledge of: Java, JavaScript, an advantage
  • Scripting: Batch, Bash, PowerShell, basic level of skill
  • Continuous integration: Team City or Jenkins

Personal

  • Well-developed analytical capabilities
  • Attention to detail, with ability to produce clear, concise documentation
  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative
  • Well-developed time management skills
  • Ability to be flexible with respect to working hours, according to operational requirements

Description of the role

  • Provide analysis and support for projects
  • Support internal infrastructure
  • Upgrades of databases and applications for projects
  • Dealing with releases to clients to ensure processes and procedures are maintained
  • Supporting and troubleshooting middleware and database
  • Proven analytical capabilities
  • Attention to detail, with ability to produce clear, concise documentation
  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative
  • Well-developed time management skills, with ability to work to tight deadlines, whilst multi-tasking
